Javier, a 19 year-old Ecuadorian works transporting undocumented immigrants from the Mexican border to stash houses in Southern California. Working his way up a gang of human traffickers, everything changes the day he meets Cristina, a 14 year-old girl from his same hometown in Ecuador. His memories and long forgotten past is uncovered when he is asked to deliver her to a sex trafficking organization, Javier will have to decide between being loyal to the man that gave him everything or save Cristina’s life from a fatal destiny.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR: 

Santiago is an Ecuadorian award winning film writer /director based in Los Angeles. He holds an MFA in directing from the American Film Institute in Hollywood, California. He is the recipient of a DGA Student Film Jury Award and the First Prize at the Hispanic Heritage Short Film Awards in Washington DC. He has received recognitions from the City of Los Angeles and the California Senate for his valuable contribution to the latino community. Santiago has written and directed several commercial, scripted and non-scripted shows. He wrote and directed the feature documentary "Estrella 14" that was released nationally in Ecuadorian theaters in 2012. Before moving to Los Angeles, Santiago was head of production for Ecuavisa, one of the biggest TV networks in Ecuador. For them, among several other projects, he show run a 6 episode drama series called "Parece Que Fue Ayer". His AFI thesis Film "The Fare" was chosen to screen at the AFI 2017 show case at the DGA and recently won and Honorable Mention at the Oscar Qualifying Cleveland International Film Festival . The Fare is currently screening at film festivals around the world. He has written several feature scripts and Tv pilots. His feature film script "El Viaje" was shortlisted at the 2017 Sundance Lab.
