A portrait of Julio Jaramillo, Ecuadorian musician, who before becoming an idol in his country conquered the Americas with his voice.

 

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR: 

​

Rodolfo Muñoz was born in Quito in 1956. He studied journalism at the Central University of Ecuador. He completed postgraduate studies at the Universities of Navarra and Flacso and has a Master’s degree from Flacso. He has worked in media for over twenty years as a journalist, news anchor, and correspondent for CNN EN ESPAÑOL, NBC, TC TV, Radio Quito, Sonorama, and RadioCentro.

 
He published the book, De la noticia al reportaje humano (From News to Reporting on Humanity) (La Habana, 1990). In 2008 he directed the documentary,’Tarjeta roja, fútbol, y racismo' (Red card, Football, and Racism), which received the audience award at the Sixth International Film Festival in Cuenca, and second prize at the Chicago International Film Festival (2008). 

 

'Muchedumbre 30s' (Crowd 30s), his second documentary, was also screened at several film festivals, and was an award-winner at the Latin American and Caribbean Film Festival in Margarita, Venezuela. 
Currently, he hosts and directs the program La Caja de Pandora (Pandora’s Box), broadcast by ECTV
