Janos Moricz, a visionary Hungarian explorer, claims to have found a metal library inside a cave in the Ecuadorian Amazon. Certain that his discovery could change humanity, he insists on obtaining support from the government and other institutions to conduct new expeditions and achieve the recognition that his find deserves.

Sin embargo al volver a sus hogares con manos vacías, cabe preguntar qué es lo que realmente vieron al mirar en el abismo de la cueva. La leyenda de Tayos es una película que habla sobre el valor del idealismo que nos lleva a explorar lugares desconocidos a los que no habríamos ido de otra forma. Pero también habla sobre la ambición, los egos, los engaños y la destrucción que esta “fiebre de oro” puede provocar.

The jungle is a dark and mysterious place. Under the shadow of its vegetation, there is a space where the imagination of adventurers transports them to another dimension. The Legend of Tayos is a film that talks about the value of idealism that leads us to explore unknown places we would not have gone to otherwise. But it also talks about the ambition, the egos, the deceptions, and the destruction that this “gold rush” can cause.
