Mario Alcocer, known as Junior Toral, works as the kitman for the Ecuadorian football team, Independiente del Valle, during the final phase of Copa Libertadores, FIFA's America Cup.
Below the surface, Junior is both a dedicated worker and a passionate fan. He follows the team through hotels, fields, stadiums, filling in the solitary spaces of the football world, the shadows where some of the most important protagonists of the sport do their work.
ABOUT THE DIRECTOR:
Andrés Cornejo was born in Quito in 1987. He studied cinema in Spain at ESCAC (Higher School of Cinema and Audiovisuals of Catalonia). He has lived in Ecuador since 2013 has always been drawn to documentary cinema. He has made several projects in this genre as director and screenwriter, including: The Bright and the Moonless, Counterstrike, The Kitman. He has worked in other projects as director of photography and editor of several short and feature films. He currently works at Cavila Studio.
