Darío moved from Ecuador to Germany to be with Stephanie,  but from the very first day there was a third party in their relationship: government agencies. For the next fifteen years Darío had to deal with a long trail of paperwork, stamps, permits, restrictions, and ten visas. Then, one day the mayor of Hamburg invited him to become a German citizen. A confession of love? Darío responds with a movie that traces his journey from the country of his parents to the country of his children.

The few elders left in a village affected by drought and on the verge of disappearing, have been waiting for 60 years for their statue of San Biritute, the God of Rain, to be returned to them. It was stolen by local authorities and its return is the elders’ only hope. Meanwhile, Justin, the only kid in town, plays alone as he waits for the school to reopen.

Two Ecuadorian former high school classmates run into each other by chance in Panama City in 1985. They haven’t seen each other since graduation and, though quite close at that time, they took opposite paths: Esteban works as a banker and is in Panama on business, though not always legitimate. José Luis claims to be a journalist; in reality he is a member of the guerrilla group Alfaro Vive Carajo, living a clandestine life as he plans his next move in Ecuador: the kidnapping of a banker. Inspired on a true events.
